It turns out that green isn't such a bad color for a skyscraper after all. The Shinjuku Green Tower's height doesn't carry it above its neighbors, but its color helps it stand apart from Tokyo's growing skyscraper forest. It inherits the basic horizontal glass stripe form that afflicts so many of the world's buildings, but by tinting itself green manages to divert attention from a copycat style and allow the viewer to absorb the building as a whole. The only significant structural element is the penthouse level where the roof line curves away from the rest of the building to form an arc linking two sides of the building.
