Shinjuku First West BuildingAnother Shinjuku building featuring horizontal bands of glass. In this case, at least, the Shinjuku First Western Building's alternating bands and windows are given a little texture. It makes the building seem less imposing and more human. The most interesting part of the building is in the southwest corner where the form of a glass cylinder appears as if it has been plunged through the edge of the building. The top of the cylinder houses some HVAC equipment and one of Tokyo's hundreds of helipads. Quick Facts
