Shinjuku I Land TowerAlso known as: | Shinjuku Island Tower | It's not what's there that makes this building interesting, it's what's missing. The Shinjuku I-Land Tower is a fairly generic Western-style office block with horizontal bands of white and reflective glass. But in the interest of variety, in several places the corners have been trimmed. Not the whole way up, or even all the way to the bottom, but enough to give the building a little visual appeal. From some angles it looks like a chunk has been taken out of the side of the building. From others it appears that the building gets larger in its final stages. It's a small change to the basic square plan that probably didn't cost all that much in terms of rentable space, but certainly helped raise the building's public profile. Quick Facts
