Fuji TV
Also known as:Fuji Television Head Office

A great building for Tokyo that captures the essence of the city -- exotic and futuristic. The Fuji TV head office (headquarters) isn't some towering skyscraper; it is the correct scale for Tokyo. But it does glitter and shimmer like an apparition from the future. Its shiny squarish skeleton complements the nearby cranes of the Port of Tokyo, while its Sphere Observation Deck appears to hover above the gantries like a space ship leaving a space port. Though there are empty spaces in the building's frame, much of the grid is an illusion created by recessed banks of windows flanked by textured columns.

Your Thoughts

There are three comments.

A horrible building. The structure looks like a giant children's toy in which someone dropped a football. Tange should have given up architecture in the 1960's when he was at his peak. It is difficult to imagine that this architect designed the Olympic stadium in Shibuya and the Saint Mary Cathedral.

I like Kenzo Tange architectures very much.I think his architectures are very attractive.I'm not an engineer but I can know why he is a famous architect because of his architectures.I think a famous building must have a good skills. He can design the buildings with good skills. The apperences also smart.I see this website for my project but I can feel his designs.I respect him for his designs.I pray him that he can creat more smart and attractive buildings.
